Sara’s note: The Isla started as an experiment; two ropes, two colors, one knot that holds them together. I kept coming back to it because it felt like something true: that the most interesting things aren't one thing or the other. They're both.
This is the piece I make when I want to remind myself that contrast isn't tension, it's character. Isla is for the woman who contains multitudes and has stopped pretending otherwise.
